General Guild Rules
Rule #1
Read the Rules in their entirety! - if you don't understand something please stop, get online and ask an officer for clarification.
Rule #2
Have FUN! WoW is a game and is meant to be enjoyed. Be it Raiding, PvP, Arena, or just general chat. Guardians of Fate is here to be the All around Guild that can make anyone happy to log on and enjoy this game.
Rule #3
Respect - The Guild, your fellow members, anyone you talk to and group with. Be mindful of your actions you are not only representing yourself but the Guild as a whole.
Rule #4
Language - In game there is a filter, if you find offensive language bothersome, leave the filter on. In vent its open chat, but don't abuse the right. If you have issue with cursing or hearing it on vent then be mindful when in a raid or in general chat, to wear a headset or something so only you are the one hearing it. We do not censor people, but we will take action against abuse of this policy.
Rule # 5
Guardians of Fate has gone to great lengths to provide the guild with tools to help interact and share information, Please make sure to check the forums regularly , including the Calendar to keep up to date with what is scheduled and going on in the guild in and out of game. If you ever need help using any of the tools, please ask, all the officers will be glad to assist you.
Rule #6
Guild Bank - The Guild and its members have gone to great lengths both in Gold, and time to stock the Guild Bank. Currently we have 5 tabs. 2 tabs are open to all members and 3 tabs are reserved to the officers for the higher end materials that we don't want to be robbed. Currently all members are limited to withdrawing a limit of 2 items a day on any character from the guild bank. These items are strictly for Guild use ONLY. Items removed should be able to be used at the time of withdraw, if not, you're basically stealing from someone else that could use it sooner than you, if it is found these items are sold or put on the AH, it will mean your immediate removal from GoF and permanent ban. We know everyone's time is very valuable, and if you take items out make sure you also contribute. If we notice one sided withdrawals we will talk with you on a individual basis, but understand what comes around goes around. The tabs do not come free and to get more tabs please feel free to donate, also understand that as the guild progresses, things such as repair bills in 25 man raids might be randomly covered by your donations. All donated money to the guild bank will be used to further enhance the Guild as a whole.
Rule #7
Participation - At the very minimum Guardians of Fate is not a store house for alts or members that log on once every blue moon. We are an active Guild and we look to keep active members. If Guardians of Fate is not your only Guild, please understand we reserve the right to remove your character without notice based on your guild interaction and participation. We are not here again to be a storehouse for a character you don't want to be bothered with a bunch of tells / g-invites, we are also not here to be used. If you have not logged into your character for a Maximum of 2 Months it and all alts will be removed. Please keep in mind to log on your alts at least once a month as well as you never know who might have sent you mail. If you are not going to be able to play for a duration of time longer than this, please inform an officer and we will keep tabs baring you are back in the timeframe stated in which case you will not be removed. If you are removed in this fashion and are starting to play again you are more than welcome to re-apply to the guild, but understand we might not be accepting applications.
Rule #8
Alts - while there are those of us that can play more than others and there for have multiple characters and some even multiple accounts, Guardians of Fate welcomes all the characters you want to bring into the guild with the following understanding: If you are taking an item from the guild bank for an alt, please make sure it is something that can be immediately used or it will fall under rule #6 and all your characters could face removal from the guild. If you are bringing an Alt to a raid because you want to raid on that character over being asked to bring the character, be respectful of someone that might only have one character and allow them to gear up their main character before you gear up your alt. What comes around goes around and it will only help everyone involved. If Guardians of Fate is not your only Guild, please understand we reserve the right to remove your character without notice based on your guild interaction and participation. We are not here again to be a storehouse for a character you don't want to be bothered with a bunch of tells / g-invites , we are also not here to be used.
Rule #9
Leaving the guild - If you decide for any reason, unexplained to an officer, prior to leaving the Guild please remove your alts from the Guild. If your focus is not here and with this Guild, we would prefer you not be here at all. We will be happy to remove your alts from the Guild. If you are still planning on contributing and participating with Guardians of Fate you can talk to the officers and they will evaluate whether or not an alt will be allowed to stay. If you ever want to return to Guardians of Fate you are more than welcome to re-apply but understand any past issues and performance, as well as reasons for leaving will be taken into consideration along with your application. Any issues that you have that might cause you to get angry and leave and you think that was a mistake remember it take 6 keystrokes to type /gquit, but only 5 to type /exit and take a step back to evaluate everything. The Officers are always available to try and troubleshoot any issues.
If you leave the guild in such manner there is a 2 month waiting period from the time you left. If you leave the guild because of issues, and have talked to an officer already about them and feel they can be worked out but you just need time away, baring we do not see you join another guild, there is a 1 week waiting period before we will accept an application from you.
Rule #10
The rules will be enforced in the following manner, depending on severity:
First Offense - Noted issue by the officers and marked in the officer section, an officer will talk to you directly about this issue, if the issues is repeated after being talked to it will lead to a second offense .
Second Offense, will be a probation of one week, you will not be welcomed to any guild functions or events, and the issue will be brought directly to Kalel's attention and reviewed for severity.
Third Offense will result in the immediate removal and banning of all characters from Guardians of Fate.
If you are removed from Guardians of fate in this manner, please understand under no Circumstance will we ever accept an application to rejoin us.
Those are the new general Guild Rules, Below are the Raiding Rules but please understand that the Raiding rules have yet to be complete so these are still a work in progress:
Guild Raiding Rules.
Rule # 1 - All players that go on any raids with Guardians of Fate is required to have the following:
Ventrilo with a working connection, you must be able to hear the directions the raid leader is telling you, whether or not you have a mic is up to you, listening is what matters. We understand that some cannot meet this commitment and we will work with them on an individual basis to allow them to raid successfully with us.
GoF Raiding mods - This is a pack that is downloadable from our website that the officers keep up to date. We will post in the guild Msg of the day when it is updated, If you want to raid you are required to keep this up to-date. We will check everyone's mods before the raid begins and if you do not have the proper mod revisions that we provide, you will be removed and replaced by someone that does, these mods include but are not limited to: Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) or Bigwigs, Omen (for threat Meters) and ORA2/CTRA. Other Mods may be added or removed at various times as the officers see fit.
There are some class specific mods that we will keep links to that the officers have found very useful for each class. This will be in the Raiding Section of the forums.
When you come to a raid you are responsible to come prepared. This means that ALL your Gear must be Gemmed (this does not mean epic gems, Rare Gems are preferred but an uncommon gem will be okay if it's temporary). ALL of your gear must be enchanted as possible, again this doesn't mean the best enchants available but something that is at least recommended for your class/spec. The guild will cover a lot of enchants when we have the mats. For this reason all greens are Master Looted and D/Eed into enchanting mats. Being prepared also includes any needed reagents for your class, all food and water ( do not count on a mage being there), battle and guardians elixirs or Flasks, both healing and mana pots if needed for your class. You are more than nice if you bring for others but make sure you have yourself covered first. As far as pots go, assume a 5 per hour with a general 3 hour minimum. This goes with battle and guardians as well.
Rule #2
Anyone that wants to raid must be at the planned instance ON TIME, our raid times are 9pm-12am server Mon-Thur unless otherwise noted. Raid invites are based on previous raid attendance which we track The invites will go in order of highest to lowest with needed classes covered first. Our tracking system is a like a golf score, you get dinged for each raid you miss, the lower your score the better. This allows Fresh recruits an opportunity to start on a clean slate and not be forced to sit on the sidelines forever. Even if you are asked to sit out for a raid, you will still be counted as being there, this will be taken into consideration with new recruits. Raid pull start times are 9pm, not the time invites start. Invites will be sent at 8:45, if you are not at the designated zone
5 minutes prior to start time it is at the Raid Leaders prerogative to invite a replacement as you are not ready by these rules.
Rule #3
LISTEN & PAY ATTENTION! - Please follow what the raid leader is telling you to do. If you are not doing your job it will become evident, and while we do try and teach people the instance, we do not nor should we have to teach people how to play their class. We expect you to do that in 5 mans and quests. If you need help learning more about your class just ask outside of the raid, we are all here to help. The focus is to be on the content not on your playing. If the raid leader notices you're not able to do what is asked, you will be notified and asked if it's an issue or misunderstanding. We will try and work with you, but if it becomes something that's holding the raid back, you might be replaced until a time can be set aside to help you with the issue that you are having.
Rule #4
If you are coming to a raid be it 10man or 25 man, it is your responsibility to READ UP on the encounters. There is wealth of information on each boss fight. Know what they can do and how the fight should go, we will review briefly but we will not hold hands through the details of the fight, it is your responsibility if you want to raid, to know what you're getting into.
Rule #5
Any raid run by the guild is at the guilds discretion. With this in mind if you're just getting your character keyed for an instance do not expect that you will get in right off the bat. We expect that you will take the time to learn to play your class and get better gear in 5 man's and heroic 5man's. IF you are expecting to just come in greens and blues you will be in for a eye opener as you will not get in. There are tons of guides in the forums and the web with directions for which instances will get you geared to be able to LAST in the 10mans. The point of gear from the 10 mans is to gear you for the 25 man instances. The 25 man instances is where our goal lies, We are not here to teach you how to shackle, or trap, or banish, or heal, or gain aggro, or any of that while in a 10-25 man instance. These are very skill based issues. Also if we notice your skill is hurting the raid you will be informed and over all be asked to make the effort to improve in that specific issue outside of the raid, in order to continue raiding. if the issue is severe enough you may be replaced in order to allow for the raid not to fail.
Rule# 6
During a raid all loot will be set to uncommon threshold. As the guild banks gets full on mats for Enchanting the Raid Leader will adjust this to rare threshold to distribute greens to attendees. Epic loot will be distributed according to some simple rules and the ML discretion. Progression will go as far as our Main Tanks (MT) and Main Healers (MH) will take us thus they'll have priority on their upgrades. After MT and MH we'll give priority to Mains based on their spec and main armor type (e.g. casters get priority on cloth over druid, pally or shaman), -> Mains for Off Set, -> Alts based on their specs and finally -> Alts for their Off Sets. We always ask for common sense and consideration to your guildmates when rolling on loot. We use a round Robin system, when you get loot, you go on the bottom of the totem pole. We have you roll for 2 reasons, First is to let us know you are interested in the item, and second to serve as a tie breaker in case you and another member are at the same rank. *Note* PvP gear does not apply to this, PvP gear does not count as epic since it's not itemized for PvE. The ML will explain the reasons behind his / her decision before awarding the item if it is given under special circumstances. The MT's and MH's are the core of every raid, we can't progress without good dedicated healers and tanks thus the MT and MH healer spots are determined based on raid attendance, dedication, spec, loyalty and need (different instances require different amount of tanks or classes). These positions are not set in stone and will change based on the progression of the guild and the players attendance / dedication. The last thing we want is gearing up a tank or healer only to have him / her leave the guild or stop playing for weeks at a time. If you think you can invest the time and dedication to be a MH or MT, please talk to one of the officers.
Rule# 7
We raid all content as a guild, 10 mans and 25 mans. Members should not PUG a raid instance and become locked out unless discussed with a raid leader prior due to a scheduling conflict for the week and you would otherwise be unable to raid with the guild. If you are found to be locked out of raids you will receive a warning and may be asked to sit out on future raids, continued locking can result in removal from the guild. this applies to all raids, regardless of how 'easy' you may feel they are.
