About Guardians of Fate:
We are one of the oldest guilds on the Gilneas (if not THE OLDEST). We were created on November 24th 2004. We currently have over 200 characters consisting of 100+ accounts, including over 60 level 80's.
Kalel/Kryptyc was and still is the ONLY GM GoF has ever had. He is the oldest original GM of an original guild on the server. GoF has overcome, 4 guild splits, 3 internal restructurings, and 3 Web-site/forum rebuilds, and we are still at it. We continue to grow and learn from our experiences and mistakes.
Even though we consider ourselves a family guild, we don't get that confused with raiding. As a family oriented guild we accommodate all kinds of play, which definitely includes raiding. We have members that take it very seriously and while on raids, our focus is on learning and beating the instances. The atmosphere will be a bit different in a raid, because we expect all attendees to respect each other's time and pay attention. See our raid rules for more details
We are looking to continue to grow and expand our guild so that all can enjoy. If you're looking for a fun family oriented guild, and want to be a part of something great, please post an application and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
In the Guardians of Fate, we use a ranking system to take note of a players participation within the Guild. The Fates take their names from the weavers and spinners of Fate in Greek Mythology.
Our First Rank is Fate Recruit. All new members will be Fate recruits for the first 2 weeks in the Guild. At the end of a successful 2 weeks, the recruit is notified and promoted.
Probation is for when someone goes a bit too far and might break some rules of the guild. We realize that everyone has a bad day, but if it becomes problematic and you you're constantly bringing it into the guild you might find yourself here. While in probation, you cannot talk in guild chat and will be removed from and not allowed in any raid. You will remain in probation until all the facts and considerations of your actions have been gone over by the officers. Probation will result in 1 of 2 things, removal from the guild , or the use of your one chance.
The Fate Members are the core of our Guild. As the name says, they believe in the Guild and are here to have fun and interact. We have members who are on monthly, weekly, and even daily. For the most part, we have defined ourselves as a family, casual Guild and we Believe in the spirit of friendship and camaraderie that our Guild shares. They have shown a desire to work with the Guild. They tend to be more active in nightly raiding or lending a hand to those who ask. When a member gets stuck and needs a hand, the Fate Member is usually one of the first to answer the call to battle.
Many of our Guild members have one or more alternate characters. To try to keep them sorted, we have a rank of Fate Alts for them. The Officers of the Guild have Alt Spinners for theirs so you can find them easier.
The Fate Spinners are the Officers of the Guardians of Fate. They have shown determination and commitment to work for the Guild members. The Fate Spinners are available to answer questions at anytime; we help out when we can, and point you in the right direction to help the Guild. Officers work both in and out of the game, keeping the Guild Bank stocked, planning and coordinating instances, help get members geared-up, keeping the forums up to date and moderated. Some Fate Spinners also work as a Class or Raid Guide. We are here to help when we can so let us know what you need. And by all means, if you have a suggestion on how to build the Guild up and make us stronger, please share your ideas with any officer or post it in the suggestions area of the forums.
Kalel/Kryptyc is the Oracle of Fate! He serves as the Guild Leader. When not playing in game, Kalel delegates responsibilities to the Fate Spinners, and has the final say in Guild Policy. He has two ears and a laptop so make use of them.
